HOW CAN WE HELP?

Frequently Asked Questions

In the Bluetooth world, things need to be Paired before they can be Connected. Pairing allows the earbuds and the device to exchange information – their addresses, the way that they will connect to one another, and what communication protocols to use. It’s like an introduction to one another. Once paired with a device, the earbuds and the device remember the information so that it only has to be exchanged once.

Once the earbuds have Paired to a device, they can Connect to it any time both are active and ready to connect. For the earbuds, this is when the case lid is opened. For your phone or computer, you may have to select “Jambuds TWS ANC” and then it will connect. Once Connected, you can start using the earbuds on the phone. If you go out of range of the phone, it will lose connection and let you know that it has been lost. When you get back in range of the phone it will normally automatically reconnect.

Bluetooth range for most Class 2 portable devices (including your Jambuds) is around 10 meters or 33 feet, with no walls or other obstructions between the devices. This is because of limited battery life (longer range requires more power) and limited size of the Bluetooth antenna (more range requires larger antennae). There are Class 1 devices (like used in computers) that can go up to 100 meters, but that is only under ideal conditions with both transmitter and receiver Class 1. With a Class 1 transmitter and the Class 2 receivers in your earbuds, you might make it to 50 or 60 feet, but it will be tough. That is the tradeoff required for light weight and small size.

Make sure that the stem of the earbuds is pointing in the direction of your mouth. If the earbud stem is pointing down, it will not capture your voice well. Also, if there is a loud noise in front of you, that will tend to make it through to the outgoing call. We are working on an improvement that will remove more environmental noise in a future product.

Don’t leave them in the car on a hot day where they will be baked. Or in the car on a cold day if it is below 0 degrees F. Or in the sun while you are swimming. Electronics and batteries don’t like temperature extremes. Try to keep them with you in moderate temperatures. Store your earbuds in the case when you are not using them so they don’t get lost and/or crushed. Clean the eartips regularly with soap and water (remove them by pulling them off the earbuds first!). Don’t drop them or otherwise knock them around.

It depends on a lot of things. Factors that can decrease battery life are:

1.) ANC active
2.) Loud music playback
3.) Long distance from earbuds to Bluetooth device

Under testing with ANC on, a moderate music playback level, and the device about 1 meter away from the earbuds, we saw between 4 and 5 hours of playback time. After the earbuds shut down and were charged for 15 minutes, they lasted about another 45 minutes. They take about an hour to fully recharge.

When the case is plugged in, you can’t pair it or factory reset it. It is fully concentrated on charging as quickly as it can and has no cycles left over for pairing. Just unplug the charging cable, pair, and plug it back in again.

You should get 6+ full charges out of the case battery. It takes about an hour to recharge fully.

If you are having trouble connecting or they are just acting weird, you can reset your earbuds by placing them both in the case, disconnecting the charging cable if it is plugged in, opening the lid, and pressing and holding the case button for 10 seconds. The case LED will flash 8 times and the earbuds will be reset. Since the button is slightly recessed, it is easier to press and hold the button if you use a metallic tool such as a pen, key, coin, or small screwdriver. Resetting the earbuds erases the pairing log so you will have to re-pair the earbuds with your devices.
